ASTAC is applying for a $3 million Community Connect grant from Rural Utilities Service to completely upgrade the network for every residence and business in Point Hope to leverage the Quintillion fiber coming ashore there. We will also contribute 15 percent matching funds to pay the operating expenses for connecting the school, police and fire departments, health clinic and community center with 4/1 MB connectivity for free for two years. We will also purchase between two and 10 computers for the public's use at the community center, depending on available space.
